Aurora Sign Company — Design, Permitting & Installation

Commercial sign company serving Aurora — storefront and monument signs, medical and dental signage, ADA and wayfinding, and multi-tenant property sign programs.

What Aurora runs on

Healthcare and bioscience

Aurora's defining industry. The Anschutz Medical Campus and the hospitals and practices around it drive constant demand for ADA room identification, patient wayfinding, and suite signage.

Aerospace and defense

Buckley Space Force Base and the contractors around it anchor a large employment base — building identification, secure-area signage, and campus wayfinding.

Multicultural retail and restaurants

Aurora is Colorado's most internationally diverse city, and the Havana Street corridor reflects it. Storefront signs, window graphics, and multi-language signage for independent operators.

Distribution and light industrial

The I-70, I-225 and E-470 corridors carry warehousing and logistics operations that need building ID, dock and traffic signage, and fleet graphics.

Commercial property and new development

Southlands and the E-470 growth corridor keep adding retail centres and office parks — monument signs, tenant panels, and full property sign packages.

Radiance Signage plans, permits, and installs commercial signage for businesses across Aurora — retail and restaurant tenants, medical and dental practices, office and flex properties, and property managers running multi-tenant buildings.

We are a service-area business. We come to your property for the survey, manage design and permitting from there, and supervise the install on site.

What Aurora businesses ask us for most

Aurora permitting and installation considerations

Aurora issues its own sign permits through its Building Division and applies its own sign code — it is a separate jurisdiction from Denver, and a design that clears one will not automatically clear the other.

A few Aurora specifics that shape the design before it is drawn:

  • Permitted sign types are limited. For commercial, industrial, and institutional use, Aurora allows wall, projecting blade, monument, and window signs. If your concept is something else, it needs rethinking or a waiver.
  • There is a cap on how many signs you get. A total of five permanent signs per business, unless a waiver has been granted or a different allowance is specified on the site plan.
  • Approvals come attached to the submittal. Sign permit submittals require landlord approval or Design Review Committee approval — so the property’s sign-off is part of the application, not something to sort out afterwards.
  • Taller monuments need engineering. Structural engineered plans are required for monument signs over seven feet.

Illuminated signs also require electrical permitting, and parts of the city sit under Buckley Space Force Base height and airport-influence considerations, which can matter for tall freestanding signage. Rules change — we confirm current requirements with the Permit Center on every project rather than working from memory.

For an Aurora project this means:

  1. Confirm the jurisdiction first. Addresses near the Denver and Arapahoe/Adams county lines are not always where people assume. We verify before drawing anything.
  2. Retail-center criteria drive the design. Aurora’s larger centers typically publish tenant sign criteria that dictate letter height, illumination type, and raceway treatment.
  3. Medical work runs on the tenant-improvement clock. For practices, the sign schedule needs to track the TI schedule so ADA and suite signage are in place for occupancy.
